Burning CD's on my MacBook

I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.4.
In the past I've had no problem burning CD's from the same package of them that I'm trying now - but it has been a few months.
I have had a change made to my MacBook since I last burned a CD - the inside panel with keyboard was cracked and has been replaced - I've detected no other problems other than the CD burning.
The new disk is accepted, the process is started but prior to completion the following warning appears: The disc can’t be burned because communication between the computer and the disc drive failed (error code 0x80020022).
Any thoughts on this problem?

Seems like you had a top case replacement done.

If you're getting this problem, most of the time it means that you need to replace the optical drive. If you have AppleCare, take the machine into an Apple Store or another Apple Authorized Service Provider and have them replace it for you free of charge. Otherwise, if the machine's out of warranty, I would buy an external drive since it'll cost 250+ to replace the internal drive, depending on what machine you have.
