Does anyone know of any programs which will let me either burn a .dat to VCD, or convert it to a usable video format?

i thought a .dat file was from a VCD? its been a while, but if i recall right it is. Also, vlc will probably play the .dat file if it is from a vcd.

OK, what kind of .dat file are you talking about? This extension is common used to denote a data file. The data may be plain ASCII text. It may be binary. However, there is no agreement among the various developers which use the .dat extension for their applications' data files of a common format. I repeat: what kind of .dat file are you talking about?

a .dat file which someone ripped from a VCD, I am able to watch it in quicktime, but I want to burn it. Just putting it on a VCD with the correct structure won't work as it is 800Mb and won't fit on a CD, so I need to be able to convert it.

Hope that helps.
