hey dudes

a friend of mine is about to purchase an eMac and wants to make sure that DVD burning on it is stable and good

have any of you had experience burning on one? and if so, was it fine?

THANKS!

I have not burned a DVD on an emac but hav on my imac and ut works well. I believe the drives in the 2 machines are the same so I would say go for it.

It's fine, iDVD runs well, but I use Toast as a DVD burning driver.

Selecting the right discs is half the battle, cheap data DVD-r's are prone to becoming coasters occasionally when used for video content, but the better authoring discs are fine.

The superdrive is a stable system.

Be sure the DVDs are the correct speed and verify the firmware for the DVD drive has been updated. Check Apple's website regarding this matter. Also only use DVD-R disks, and not DVD+R disks. DVD-RW is only compatible third party burning software. DVD-RAM is not compatible at all.
