If you use a program like MactheRipper (http://www.mactheripper.org/) it will extract the DVD to your hard drive. It also removes copy protection (which may or may not be illegal, depending on where you live). Burning it back to a DVD will NOT put copy protection back on it.

Im sorry, i forgot to say that i have handbrake. i was wondering actually, if after i burn it to my hard drive, how i would burn it to a DVD so i could play it on a dvd player.:apple:

is that roxio toast? im trying to find the link... and is there a free version?

And does this allow for use on a dvd player?

I don't think HandBrake gives you the kind of file you will need to burn a DVD that will player in your typical DVD player. Mac the Ripper does.
