I was wondering if i could burn a DVD to my computer(handbrake) and then burn that movie back to a DVD. Would the movie i burn in handbrake have copyright protection or whatever.

If you use a program like MactheRipper (http://www.mactheripper.org/) it will extract the DVD to your hard drive. It also removes copy protection (which may or may not be illegal, depending on where you live). Burning it back to a DVD will NOT put copy protection back on it.

use toast to burn it onto a dvd
is that roxio toast? im trying to find the link... and is there a free version?

roxio toast costs 80 bucks but I guess it's worth it, if you don't enjoy doing illegal things, if you do, there's always a way to get it

Don't use handbrake. Use Mac the Ripper, as posted above. Then you can just burn the files back to a DVD using any program.
