I just got a new macbook and am getting to grips with it....is it possible to make dvds of movie files downloaded from the internet?many thanks

As in DVDs you can watch on a DVD player? Sort of, probably, with some effort, but since it sounds you're talking about commercial movies downloaded illegally, I'm confident we're not supposed to talk about it on these forums. :(

Yup. But not ones you get from iTunes. Just open iMovie, import the avi, mov, whatever, and then export it into iDVD. From there you can make a menu screen and burn the DVD. There are other ways, but if you're looking for the easiest solution with the SW that came on your machine, that would do it.
And I'm sure you mean legal stuff...

thanks

Yeah it's all legal, when I say movie I don't mean of the Hollywood/Tv variety. I've got to make a video thing for graduation. hopefully will be straight forward, thanks
