i'd like to burn an MP3 disc to play in my new stereo that says it supports mp3s. I selected that option in itunes and created a playlist. i read that it will only burn MP3 format, all others will be ignored. the problem is all my songs are in AAC and when i try to burn, i get a message saying that nothing is in my playlistthat can be burned. how do i temporarily convert songs in a playlist to MP3. any advice? thanks

As you've found out, AACs and MP3s are different. There isn't a way to temporarily make them into MP3s or make them appear to be MP3s. In iTunes you can convert AAC to MP3, but you will lose some sound quality. The best solution is to rip your CD again as MP3.
If you have protected AACs from the iTunes Music Store, you can't convert them to MP3. You have to burn them to an audio CD, then import that as MP3.
Also, I've had bad luck burning MP3 CDs that my car stereo can read in iTunes. If I use Finder everything is cool.
