Hi guys,

I'm looking forward to perform a fresh installation of Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro "Core 2 Duo" 2.4 13" Mid-2010. The Snow Leopard installation DVD that I received with the hardware is now damaged. Hence, I downloaded a 10A435 build and burnt it on a dual layer DVD. Apparently, the computer hangs while I attempt to boot the DVD with a 'Grey Screen of death', before even the installation wizard begins.

I've tried burning several DVDs and even on an external hard drive. In all cases, the symptoms were exactly as I mentioned above.

What am I missing here? How can I fix this problem?

I believe you can call Apple and get a set of OS X CDs for cheap, and that too optimized for your system.
