Hi,

I'm experiencing some strange behavior when taking photos on my iPhone 6. When I tap the camera button it takes a picture and saves it into "Recently Added" album. When I hold the camera button it takes a burst shot and saves it into "Bursts" album. So far so good...

When I tap the camera button and hold it a little too long it starts taking a burst shot and stops after one image. This single burst image isn't saved to any album on my device nor is it uploaded to my photo stream.

Can anyone reproduce this behavior on his/her device? I want to get confirmation before I fill a bug report for Apple.

Thanks!

I've had weird stuff like this happen too. Photos that seem fine while taking them, are nowhere to be found when going into pictures. It's like they were never captured at all. iPhone 5s.

Go to the 'all photos' button at the bottom in the Camera app. I have found that it is a unique roll that is not available anywhere else.

Nope, still not there. All the photos of my son are there, but the ones of my daughter at the same event is missing completely. I saw the photos of her being captured, and the little thumbnail show up at the bottom of the camera, but they are not anywhere in my photos.

Do you see the view as below? With Select in the middle?

If you tap that it brings up the mini roll.

If I remember correctly the phone chooses the best of all in the burst and that is the one it shows. Best focus, exposure etc. But you can override that by going into select them.

Burst shots with only one photo are not saved to camera roll

Doesn't help you, but it doesn't happen on my 5s.

Thanks for testing! Did you take exactly one photo with burst mode (little counter showing 001)? Are you running iOS 8?

No, the photo is not visible. It only shows up in the camera's little preview on the lower left. But if I tap on it, it displays the image I have taken before that photo.

I can confirm that this behavior happens on my iPhone 6. I have experienced it on iOS 8.0 and 8.0.2. I submitted a bug report via this form.

FWIW, I was able to access the missing photos by plugging into a computer and using an application such as Image Capture.
