Hello.

I had a missed call this morning from a number I didn't recognize... on the lock screen, it showed the phone number. I unlocked it, and the phone was last on my recent calls screen... The first missed call that was displayed was a business name that was not in my contacts! I only have three contacts stored at the moment (I just started using this phone, I cooked my 3GS in my car, I'm using an old 3G until the next one comes out, and since the 3G can't run iOS 4.3.3, I wasn't able to restore my 3GS backup to this one, so all my contacts are gone).

When I select the business name, it calls it, but on the call screen, it displays the phone number, not the name like it would if it were in my contacts.

How did my phone get the name of the business??? I realize "full" caller ID has both the number and the name of the business (or individual), but the iphone just displays the number and doesn't pull the name on record with the phone company...

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

I've had this with txts actually it's quite normal with txts that say O2 txt me I don't have them stored but it shows as O2. With phone calls... Never!

O2, as in the cell network in the UK? Now that you mentioned it, when i get them (texts) from AT&T, they say they're from AT&T... It was just odd seeing it show up on a phone call... I wish it did it all the time though, that'd be nice!

I read recently that this feature is coming soon. However, they plan to charge for the service so not sure how much take up there will be.

This is weird. But not bad. Why isn't caller ID implemented on cell phones... that would be really helpful.
