Hey guys,

I have a early 2008 MacBook Pro and the paint ( i guess its paint? ) on the button of to open the notebook is chipping off and to be honest it just looks ugly. I have not been opening the computer carelessly or abusively, in fact, I've been SUPER careful with it.

I guess my question to you folks is:

Will apple do something about this (under their 1 year warranty) if I send it to them?

PS. I do not have applecare, i was planning on buying it after my 1 year warranty runs out.

Thanks for the help fellas!

Ok thanks for that! Good thing my warranty hasn't run out yet....that wouldnt of been good.

I know what you mean, mine has gone totally black even though the rest of the laptop is spotless and I've never used it with dirty hands. I would get it seen to, it will only get worse.

I have a MBP2.2 from mid 2007 and the open button still looks like new!! Though there's one or two minor scuffs... but who cares? Machine still does it's job.
