Buy 4S - Return/Exchange for 5 Question

With the 5 so hard to come by and I want a faster phone and better camera than my 4 does anyone know if it works (eligibility and return policy) if I buy a 4S (16GB) from Apple today and then in 30 days or less return/exchange it for a 5. I just want to make sure I don't lose my eligibility and that I have 30 days.

You can do this. I did it last year when the 4S was hard to find. I tried out the GSII before eventually ordering a 4S from AT&T, then returning the GSII.
