I will spend 3 weeks in the States and I would like to know if it's possible to buy an AT&T prepaid microsim for the iPhone 4 without contract.

I would use it mostly for 3G connections to check my emails, no more than one time per day.

I don't live in the US so I don't have an american address.

Does anyone could provide me some information?

Thanks a lot :)

M.

Hey you can buy a micro sim from online then go to att go plan site and activate it, you will need imei number and sim number to activate the sim. No contract needed.

I can't just go to an At&t store?

Thanks for your answer anyway :)

I'll be in San Francisco in 2 days... I'll go to a store and I'll ask :)

I wonder about this too..
I'm not going until the end of august, so i have time to buy one from ebay. But Since almost everyone sells them for 10USD plus shipping i would guess it's cheaper straight from AT&T.

On this website they say that AT&T would be unwilling to give me a prepaid Micro-SIM when i have an iPhone. http://paygsimwithdata.wikia.com/wiki/USA

Any way around that? Maybe tell them i bought a used 3G iPad and need a sim for that, and then just activate it as a regular prepaid card?

You can go to Best Buy and get the O2 SIM for $9.99 and it will work in the iphone 4, I've done it. Can't speak to whether it will activate the phone for you if not already activated however. They are a few Best Buys around S.F and Colma.
