Buy adapters or new?

I have a USB charger on my Macbook, a plug/USB charger in the bedroom, a car charger, and a USB charger at work. I use all 4 of them every day.

I will have the one that comes with the phone. So I will need at least 2 more USB type plus a 30 pin adapter for the car charger since I don't see a new car charger offered anywhere yet.

The USB cables are $19, the 30 pin adapters are $29 and the corded 30 pin adapter is $39. Why would someone need the $39 cable if they have other USB cords and can simply use the 30 pin adapter?

So it looks like I will need 1 30 pin adapter for the car charger and 2 USB. That seems like the cheapest option. But I assume they will have a car charger too at some point...So it looks like at least $70 just to charge my phone

So this is the same as the little 30 pin adapter, just with a cord? Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (0.2 m)

Why would people buy the $39 corded adapter vs. the $29 regular one?

Gizmodo doesn't like it....

Maybe I am too tired to look at this stuff right now....:roll eyes:

I don't have many accessories for my iPhone. I'll probably just buy new cables for my car chargers. I don't like having to use adapters. A new USB to Lightning cable is only $19 while the Lightning to 30-pin adapter is $29.

I'm sorry?.....What is this list?^ What is a USB Power Adapter and Lightning to USB Cable? A charging cable doesn't come with the phone?

The lightning to USB cable is the charging cable, replacing the 30pin cable. The USB power adapter is the part that plugs into a wall socket.

It doesn't come with an adaptor for the old connection cable.

Ok, so we are confusing the word 'Adaptor' here. When I say adaptor, I am only talking about the part that converts the old cable into the new. Not the part that you plug into the wall (power outlet) for the USB. I added '30 pin' in front of the word adaptor in my OP in hopes to clear up the misunderstanding.

All good! New products and existing changes can make for a confusing time.

I don't see an iPhone 5 dock. Wouldn't the old one be really weird or unusable if you need to put an adapter on it?

If I was getting the new iPhone5, I'd be getting new cables. The adapters I see in the photos is way too big.

Same for me. I will use the included cable to charge at home. I will pick up one extra $19 USB->Lightning for work. Hopefully I won't have to keep the 5 plugged in all day like I do with my 4.

I rarely use my car charger, so I will just wait for a third party release and pick one up if I need it.

I'll use the one it comes with for my bedroom, but I'll need 2 USB (computer at work and home) and 1 adapter for my car connector if I want to listen to music, or use the car charger.

Let's not forget new cases and screen protectors!
