Buy AirTag now, or wait for refresh?

I’ve never been interested in AirTags, but thinking about getting one for my keys.

Do you think they will be refreshed any time soon?

I decided to get one for my keys.

I can’t see Apple refreshing them, this close to Christmas.

You are probably right. They have been talking about a refresh now coming for a while. The first rumor was mid 2025 my guess is they have a new units ready to go. They’re just trying to sell off as many of the old ones first.

No, other AirTag competitors don't have the same feature set. I use both Apple AirTags and some third party trackers and the third party trackers can utilize the Find My network but cannot leverage the precision finding.
