Buy an iPhone 4g on AT&T- use it on verizon later?

Simple question, if the new iPhone is released on AT&T in June and I buy one, can I then use that same iPhone down the line if they are releaed on verizon? Or will I have to buy a new one just to use it on verizon?

Thanks : )

No I can't use it on verizon or no I won't have to bit a new one?

when will people ever learn? Why do you think no one has ever used an iphone on verizon? Cause apple said it wasnt allowed? its 2 completely different technologies. you need completely different HARDWARE.

Wasn't sure If this technology would be changed if they are planning to release the same product on both carriers.

No, you will not be able to use it. The iPhone currently is a GSM phone while Verizon and Sprint rely largely on CDMA technology.

no more than likely they will be 2 dif phones
verizion uses cdma and at&t uses gsm

I think the confusion lies in iPhone "4G" - the 4G is a misnomer. The fourth generation iPhone won't use 4G wireless networks and therefore won't work on Verizon once they move to LTE as AT&T will too.

No, sorry. The AT&T version uses a sim card, which is GSM technology. However, Verizon devices do not use a sim card, unless you will be traveling overseas because some Verizon devices have sims built in. Verizon uses CDMA. As a result CDMA does not equal GSM. Hope that helps!

We don't know for sure. I'm 95% confident that the new device will contain the same phone chipset as the 3GS, but there's a chance that it'll be a hybrid that also supports CDMA/EVDO. However, I expect that any Verizon iPhone will be a separate device.

Can you use any AT&T cellphone on verizon or Sprint.
No.
How do you expect to do that with the next GSM iPhone?
