Buy broken PowerBook for parts?

I bought a PowerBook charger and an S video cable today. The man told me he still has the PowerBook but the logic board is bad and wont start up. I've been wanting to switch out the display on my PB and perhaps change the top case as mine has a dent and some scratches. I looked at it and the casing is in great condition but I can't see the display. His PB is a 1.25 GHz 15" and mine is a 1.5 GHz 15"

Im wondering if I can use these parts from his PB on mine. He will be taking the hard drive out and let me keep the rest for $50

according to ifixit the displays are the same. I say might as well for 50 bucks
