Hi there,
I'm considering buying a 20" iMac Core Duo in mid july - august, but I'm wondering if I should wait for the next (processor (Merom, is it?)) update if it's just a few months down the road. I don't need the machine right now anyway, I just want one really bad ...
This will be my first Mac, and it'll mostly be used for basic stuff (surfing, writing, mail, watching DVDs etc.), and maybe some light image editing and other creative stuff, once I get used to the machine. Should I even consider the new PowerMac / Mac Pro? My budget would range from $2,000 - $3,000.
I guess what I'm asking is ... based on my use, would a 20" iMac be satisfactory, should I wait for the new update to it, or should I just wait for the Mac Pro? As I've stated, I'm not a demanding user, I'd just like my first Mac to be nice, responsive and hopefully last me a long time.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
