Buy MBP on ebay, still applecare eligible?

Can I still buy applecare on a MBP that is purchased on ebay that is new in a factory sealed box?

I couldn't seem to put the right words together to find the answer in a search, as I'm sure the question has been asked.

If it's still in the first year of warranty, yes. If not, no.

The warranty starts on the day that it leaves the first-party seller. So if it was purchased new six months ago, you'll have only six months left on the warranty. As long as it isn't more than a year old, you can still extend AppleCare on it.
