As a token of appreciation to my friend who was influential in getting me to enter a competition that ended up netting me a $10k prize for winning, I thought I'd get him an Apple TV.

I was sort of hoping that a new one would come out today, and figured I'd place an order for one if it didn't show up, but this opinion had me second guessing myself:
http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/20/new-apple-macs-macbooks-and-a-mouse-but-wheres-the-freight/

He made the point about freight costs not necessarily making sense given today's releases:

Timothy D. Cook, Apple’s chief operating officer, said on a conference call with analysts that the (freight) cost increases have “nothing to do with iPhone”, and “are about getting units into the channel for the holiday.”

Peter Oppenheimer, the chief financial officer, added that the “increase is larger than usual. I’m sorry I can’t be specific on the product but it’s an abnormal sequential increase.”

..the idea being that today's releases wouldn't necessarily account for a drastic increase in shipping costs.

So my question is: do you think something else is coming (like a new Apple TV), or do you think what we saw today is it?
