Anyone else think its awesome that you can keep your iphone for a whole year, upgrade to the newest model and sell your old one on ebay for more than your getting the new model for? God I love apple.

And who is able to do that?

I paid the subsidized price of $299 for my 16GB 3G iPhone, a few years ago. No way I will get even close to that on eBay.

I sold my 3gs for 250 I probably could of gotten more but i had to sell it quick to hav the money for the pre orders.

I sold my 8GB 3G for $250 on Craigslist this past Friday, unlocked, of course. I imagine you could get more than I did...

I still have my 3gs.... I sold one of my pre-orders on ebay before the pre sale started for $905. So the sale of one of my 4's paid for all 3 for the most part. I will give my 3gs to my brother (used his wifes upgrade for one of the 4's). I guess we'll then keep my wife's 3gs for a back up phone.

My 16gb iPhone 3G was white, and had cracked due to the crappy plastic Apple used on the white models then (one reason I'm just not investing in white anymore with the iPhone...). I sold it for 200, even with the damage and being locked. If you have it downgraded to the old firmware and unlocked, I'm sure you'll get 250 easy for it.

I was unaware Apple used a different plastic for white iPhones. I am inclined to think white just shows cracks easier than black.

i always get the new one and hubby gets my handme down.
last yr got his new iphone 3gs (he was new contract, i wasnt up yet lol)
and gave him my 3g.
this yr he gets my 3gs while i go for 4.
new technology doesnt matter as much to him, plus i think my OCDing makes him feel guilty lololol

Is it possible to sell a preorder? I thought the phones were sim connected to your identity where you just have to connect to iTunes? If you sold it, they would need to get a new sim maybe but your name would still be registered to an iPhone 4 right? So if you REALLY did want an iphone 4, the next time you walk into an Apple store, they would think you would be connected to a 2year contract... that's just what I thought.

I'm waiting for the dust to settle

iPhone 3GS prices on ebay tanked after the iPhone 4 was announced at WWDC, then it's only yesturday since the prices were released that they went back up. Because the iPhone 3GS is now 8GB and £419 unlocked, it puts people with 16GB/32GB 3GS that are unlocked with warranty in a good place. Especially when the 8GB 3GS becomes more mainstream.

I have an almost mint condition white iPhone 3GS 32GB, fully boxed, officially unlocked, 12 months Applecare left with a dock and incipio feather case. Judging by prices, i should get £360/370 for it when i come to sell it in 3/4 weeks.
