Is it possible to head to an Apple store and buy a Verizon phone outright without signing up for/having existing Verizon service? My area has tons of Verizon phones available in all sizes/colors, but little for other services. Verizon phones are unlocked and universal, but you can't order one from the website without some kind of Verizon service.

Does anyone know if the store just sell you one at full price if you just show up?

I know the stock online is just for online orders, but given how many they seem to have, it's probably likely the store has some walk-in stock.

When I purchased a Verizon iPhone 6 Plus, I didn't have a verizon account and I told them I was going to buy it outright. So they did not ask me anything in regards if I had an account with Verizon. And I was able to walk out with the phone. I am on AT&T Network.

Interesting. Exactly the information I was looking for, thanks!

If you pay full retail, you can walk out of the store without a VZW contract, without any activation, without even opening the shrink wrap.

You can't do this at a VZW store, though.

Yes. I saw plenty of people buy Verizon Phone at full price. They keep buying. They allow 2 per transaction and 10 total per day per person.

Best Buy will allow this without activation, and will price match Apple. Done it for the last 3 phone releases.

Same

Same here, the result is the best unlocked phone available!
