Buying a 2017 13" MBP?

I've been considering upgrading my 2014 rMBP. It's 13" base model, and 128GB just isnt cutting it. Saw that there's a sale in BestBuy where I could get the 2017 512GB 13" MBP for $1599, plus trade in my current for around $450. Think it's worth it?
I also considered waiting until June to see the refresh, but I dont think I care to spend upwards to $2000 for the 512GB models. I am a bit concerned about the keyboard. I tried it a bit, it seems it'll take some adapting. I definitely need a new machine... just don't know if this is a good deal.

would you consider just upgrading the SSD to a larger size?

not cheap but less than the $1000 you are planning to spend to upgrade... of course you’d lose out on some 2017 features (as will as avoid 2017 pitfalls).

alternatively, to buy you time until 2018s released, maybe pay $2/mo for extra icloud space and migrate stuff up there or spend $200 for a nice external SSD drive for your photos or music library.

but i get it. the lack of SSD space is why i went from my 2011 mba11 4/128 to 2016 mbp13 8/512 when they came out. but while i loved my mba11,
the 2016 mbp13 has been a bit meh...

just got a used 2014 mbp15 16/512 on ebay for $800 to use for work projects. it’s a monster and while not ideal for travel, and old school looking, i love not needing doggles, extra travel and quiet keyboard and the screen size. there are some bargains out there

Wait until the 2018's are announced, if you can.
2017's have problems with the keyboards -- expensive repair when it happens.

No promises that this will be "fixed" with the 2018 models, but ... it might be.

yeah my 2016 mbp13 is part of the battery recall.

i’m hoping when i bring it in, the replacement battery which i’ve heard includes replacing the keyboard because they’re glued together, will include a revised keyboard that has less sticking due to dust issues as well as being quieter
