Buying a 500gb. Internal or external?

Hi, i´ve been thinking for the last week to buy a new HDD because the 160gb is just to little in my MBP...

I was decided to buy the WD 500GB scorpio blue but now i´ve had second thoughts on maybe and external WD passport.

I thought about the external mostly because i thought the internal will make the laptop hotter,be noisy and consume more battery.

What would you guys do?

I would get internal. I don't think the 500GB Scorpio Blue will make the laptop run hotter, get noisy, or consume battery life. I wouldn't want to carry an external hard drive everywhere.

I agree with MacMini2009, carrying around a drive is not fun at all.

i like internal as well its more portable in a sense

remember, you can always make your existing internal an external hdd

If you are going for external, get a 3.5" with least 1 TB.
If you are going for internal, put 500gb in your notebook and get an external case for 160gb, you can use it for backups etc.

I use 200gb internal drive, its more than enough. I store my media files on external disks (over 2TB+ now) connected to my home NAS.
