Hi is a brand new iPhone 11 worth buying in 2024? I can buy one for $199. I want to stick with lcd screen because of eye sensitivity. I am currently using a iPhone se 2020, should I just get a new battery for it? If I buy a iPhone 11 what iOS will it have? I want to stay under the iOS 16 that some people r having problems with. How long will iPhone 11 get support? What do u think, recommend and experience with it? Thanks.

I wouldn't. At $199 you almost half way to a new 3rd gen SE (2022). Or, as you mentioned, putting a battery in your current phone is a valid choice. Who says you won't need a battery in the 11 as well?

I see can do a battery replacement on the iPhone de 2020 for $69. The iPhone 11 is a brand new phone do it wouldn’t need a new battery.

Hmmm, well if it is new its been sitting in a box for almost 4.5 years, the battery might not be as good as you think it is.

Personally, I would still either replace the battery, get a gen3 SE or wait for the new one that supposedly comes out this year.

My biggest thing about the new one is it sounds like it will be Oled and I would be one that has the sensitivity to those screens. Thanks

I would pass on this Purchase especially with the inferior Intel mode that’s in it ☹️

What would up recommend, battery replacement in my iPhone se 2020? Try the iPhone se 2022? What? Thanks.

The SE 2022 has improved battery life over the SE 2020. Probably still not going to be as good as battery life on the iPhone 11 though due to lower battery capacity.

If you’ve been looking at Tracfone branded iPhones, the SE 2022 is even cheaper than the 11 at $149.

iPhone SE (2020) and iPhone SE (2022) are both using LCD just like iPhone 11 non-Pro...

The advantage of iPhone 11 is it has a bigger display and bigger battery than the two iPhone SE models...

iPhone SE (2020) and iPhone 11 both have A13 Bionic while iPhone SE (2022) has A15 Bionic

Get iPhone 14 and a high quality third party LCD replacement. You’ll have to do this sooner or later if you want to continue using iPhone given the trend to OLED.

I don't understand what you are asking when you on one hand say "i want to stay under the iOS 16" and at the same time asking "how long will the iPhone 11 get support?" Its a bit contradictory to me.
The whole idea of getting a phone that is still supported is that you get security and bugfixes and that means that you need to stick to the latest OS version, which the 11 does.

It’s your money and your choice, but I can vouch for the 2022 SE. I have it and it’s a great phone. And I think the battery life is amazing. 6 hours of screen on time per charge, easily. Should still be getting iOS updates for years, if that’s something you care about.

Edit - You said you want to run an older iOS version. Which version are you trying to avoid? The bad news is that any phone you buy new from Apple today is likely to have iOS 17 out of the box. 😫 Sorry.

iPhone 11 bigger display for viewing, bigger battery and will still get security updates. Would going to a bigger phone or to Face ID bother you any?

How would I go about doing this?

Even a older phone like the iPhone 11?

I would not think it would bother me. U would think bigger display would look nice.

I'm using an iPhone 11 as a testdevice at work, testing new OS other changes in the environment and have to say I'm impressed of how the iPhone 11 holds up today. Good battery-time, good performance and the display is nice to look at. Definitely an improvement over the SE. Not saying the SE is a bad buy, but the 11 is better in most aspects.
iOS 17 works great on the device too, both on my testdevice and the ones that our users have.

none of us can really say which version it’ll come booted with. Theoretically, it could be as old as a version of iOS 13.
But it’s not going to let you jump to a different version that you specifically want.
There is one upgrade path for all modern iPhones, Apple only signs the latest version.

So if your phone came with version 13, 14, or 15, you can only jump to 17.3.1, the latest version.
