All iPads Buying a full season on iTunes

Is there a way to buy a full TV season of a show on iTunes on my iPad? I tried today and it wouldn't let me because it said there wasn't enough space to download it. First off I DO NOT WANT to download a full 20 episode TV season at once on the iPad. I have a 32gb. It is annoying it expects that you want to!

I finally just ordered the full season on Apple TV where it doesn't have to download anything but what if I didn't have Apple TV??? How could I buy it?

You could do it one episode at a time. By the last episode you would have paid the same as if you bought it all at once.

It is a bit of a problem which needs addressing now that we have them stored in iCloud. There needs to be a toggle to prevent automatic downloads of movies etc.

I think the only way to do it is to buy a season on a desktop iTunes or a ATV if you have either.
