Buying a Harddrive.

What is a great buy to put in my late 2009 white unibody macbook. I don't know much about hard drives, just i need more space (at least 500 gb, but 1 tb is preferred)

Probably because a 512 GB SSD will cost ~ US$800?!? And there really isn't anything bigger.

Any 2.5" SATA drive that is 9.5 mm in height should do. Many 1 TB drives are thicker 12.5 mm so avoid those.

I found this hard drive on Owc. I was wondering if the transfer rate mattered.
I saw that a 500 gb hitachi hard drive has a 3.0 Gb/s, and the 750 Gb hitachi hard drive has a 300 Mb/s.
