Back 2 weeks ago they had plenty of stock of 6 plus at my kansas city store, wasn't even really a line either, lasted all day, went with the 6 tho. So yes!

Yes, it is possible. If I would have had an eligible line available I could have picked up a 6+ for the wifey.

They had two lines. One for no-contract (I guess) that was a block long and a separate line for people using an eligible upgrade which was around 10 or 15 people long. I showed up 30 minutes early and was third in line. :)

Edit: I should add that I first checked istocknow and knew they had stock.

Just check the apple store app in store pickup option. It'll tell you all the stores it's currently in stock at. You should check a couple times a day. Good luck!

I walked into the store on Saturday morning last week pretty close to the time they opened. iStocknow showed that they had a verizon 6 plus silver 16gb that I was trying to get. The specialist that helped me told me that they didn't have any 6 pluses in stock, so I figured someone had snagged them while I was getting to the store and I left. I checked iStocknow again on a whim on my phone while leaving and noticed that it still said the 16gb was in stock so I talked to a different person who turned out to be a manger. She told me that they had 16gb and 128gb in stock, and I jumped for the 128gb because that was the model that I'd wanted. The same guy who told me that they were out walks over to her and tells her that the information isn't accurate. So the manager went to check what was going on and told me that they'd just gotten some shipments and were processing them, so if I was willing to wait and see what they had, I might be able to get something so I waited. It was about 15 minutes and then I was able to get the 128gb.

So it does happen, but I wouldn't just go to the store every day to see if they had some in stock; check iStocknow first and also verify on the online apple store. It's best if you can just order it for personal pickup -- then you know you'll get the phone.

Supplies are still dry in my area, at least for the 64GB and 128GB anyway....

16GB still available, but who really wants a 16GB these days?

so sold my 6 on ebay for 820 ... bought 6+ from app with in store pick up next day after stock showed up on istocknow from a store in Houston and had buddy ship to me.... received that 6+ in silver(wanted grey) got up and running with that and same day stock of 64gb grey showed up in stock locally... ran in within 20 minutes of getting alert email and swapped it out... got lucky...there was still a line of 25 people at the mall.

i've had pretty good luck with the istocknow updates

I've had no luck at all with 64/128GB. 16GB is always available, but I surely don't want a 16GB in todays time.

I been using idevicechecker, but Target is out of sync. And the times I happen to catch Apple in time, they're completely sold out

I've been trying to find a 6 plus for a few weeks now. iStocknow will email me and say they are in stock so I try to do in store pickup but it errors out every single time. I'm finding that Apple's inventory online isn't correct. They had 6 pluses in the configuration I wanted all day yesterday but the website never updated to say they were available. Hopefully I luck out and find one soon!

I refreshed my browser on a completely unexpected Apple stock update. 3 stores had them in stock, I went store by store and got error at the checkout page 3 times in a row. Literally sold out store by store within 3 mins

I reserved one today after only a few days of trying. I still have to go pick it up. istocknow FTW!

I was able to get 2 iPhone 6+'s in Silver and Gray (128GB) and 2 iPhone 6+'s in Gold and Gray (64GB). Also picked-up a 6 in gold.
Actually very easy...I used the Apple store website on my computer and iPhone app. I also used istocknow but it is not very accurate.
The trick is each store is very different on when they update. It can happen anytime of the day or night. I live in the Seattle area and have 5 stores to choose from. I start at 9:55PM and I found that none of the stores actually update at 10PM. Most updated around 11PM - 12:30AM. If the one you want isn't there in a couple hours, after the nightly update, wait till after store opening. They will adjust inventory that may not have updated correctly at night or an online order that was cancelled (usually from the previous day). These updates happen anytime during the day. Keep trying every few hours and you may get lucky...I did.
You must be very quick....these go very fast. I lost a few just trying to get thru the various screens to checkout.
I got all of these phones in less then 10 days.:D
Good Luck..... Happy Hunting.

I think inventory has significantly improved as of late. I just did a random search & several stores in my area are showing 6+ inventory in various colors & storage configurations.

It's all a lie ;)

I've seen a huge glut of 6+ Verizon/Space Grey/128GB show up off and on all afternoon today at three different local Apple Stores. I've placed an order within seconds of the site saying they are available - just to see the sale error out and the store immediately go to not available. Only to return to in stock again less than an hour later. Rinse and repeat.

I've made at least 10 orders at various times today on three different devices and six more over the past two weeks and every single time ordering for in-store pickup fails in the exact same way.

People calling these things unicorns is right :D

The one Apple store across the street from where I work? Didn't get a single thing in all day, so there's a chance they may have some in the morning.

A couple of us at work today went to the Food Court at a mall today and while passing the Apple store I asked if they had any iPhone 6+ available (my wife is waiting for one). To my surprise they did but my wife wasn't there. They let me reserved 2 (64gb & 128gb) until the end of day. After work my wife and I went there and picked up the 128GB.

Seems like inventory is slowly improving or I just got lucky and they had a shipment earlier in the day.

I got lucky this past Saturday - went to Southlake, TX store before it opened and was first in line but they had no AT&T/T-Mo/Verizon 64/128's in any color; drove to Fort Worth store & arrived about an hour & 15 minutes after they opened with a line still outside (and obvious scalpers ahead of me in line), and was able to get an AT&T 6+ SG 64GB (and the Fort Worth store consistently showed no stock on iStockNow and on iDeviceChecker all morning).

I do believe the stores get stock they set aside for walk-ins that is not reflected online.

I was in Pittsburgh on Sunday for a Steelers game. I checked istocknow and found a gold 16gb 6+ at Ross Park at about 10:30 PM. Got there around 9:30 the next morning, first in line, and got one with no problems. They even had enough in stock that my buddy, who was waiting on an order from AT&T, canceled his order and bought one in the store as well. I was hoping for the space gray, but AT&T canceled my order on Saturday morning for undetermined reasons and I was either going to have to place a new order and wait a while or take my chance. Got really lucky.

istocknow works!

I just scored my 6 plus yesterday at a local Apple store. I was alerted a gray 64GB was in stock so I logged onto the online store and completed my purchase to be picked-up at the store.

Prior to this, within the last week, I failed at check-out 3 or 4 times because someone beat me to it. You have to be patient but still better than waiting for AT&T to ship!

Yes, got in line around 11:30am at the Columbia, MD store. I was out of the store around 12pm with a Gold + 64GB AT&T.

I just did yesterday. I was there for the past few days to see how it worked. What I found out was that phones come in everyday (except Sunday), usually around 12, but are available at around 1. The first couple days I tried, they didn't get the exact one I wanted, but eventually did.

Throughout the morning the resellers would continuously check with employees to see what they have. As soon as one found that they were available, they all rushed into a line to buy them. My local store was very orderly with the resellers. They had anybody paying full retail to line up with one employee dealing with the whole line. This frees up the other employees to help real customers. I watched all this happen and wondered if I needed to line up, but as soon as the line formed an employee went right up to me because he knew I've been waiting. And it happened at exactly 1:00. The resellers were the same exact 10 people doing that every single day- buying out the entire stock of phones, so every employee knew who they were.

I heard that things are different in other stores though. Other stores try to treat resellers the same as customers. It makes them get super aggressive and try to beat out other customers, a free-for-all.

You've got to be there right as the phones come available, and hope they were sent the model you were looking for.
