Buying a lens as a gift for a Canon

My partner has a canon and two lenses (I wrote the things down on the side - the one has 90-300 on and the other 18-55)
I would like to buy a surprise gift - one of those lenses that you can take really really close detailed photos - I think it is called a macro lens - what lens can I buy - is it a 80mm or a 100mm?

Canon make a 100mm Macro, Tamron make a very nice 90mm Macro as well.
