Hi,
Looking at some great prices for MacBooks and Apple laptops in general on ebay, I'm just wondering if anyone has some general advice in terms of avoiding getting ripped off.

Specifically, anything I should be looking out for that would scream rip-off, and on receipt of the laptop, any quick tests of checklists to make sure everything is running as smooth as it should?

Apologies if this has been asked and answered before, but it seems like something that should kick around near the top of the forums anyways.

Thanks.

there are threads, try doing a search with mroogle.

You need a trusted seller and a reasonable price. Often you will see ebay offers for new MBPs for half the retail price, which is a sure sign of a scam. Check closely at the specs; often you will see specs that are simply wrong, another sign of a scam. For example, saying "this is a brand new black macbook pro" (Apple doesn't make them anymore), or "has blu-ray drive"..
