Buying a MBP from a private party. I have the serial number, but how do I check it?

What is the best way to check on a serial number with Apple?

If there's an Apple store nearby you can have them check it for you. I don't know if there is a way to do it yourself, though. That would be cool if you could just look it up on their website.

Go to www.apple.com/support

Go to the bottom of the page and enter in the serial number, I'm not sure how much info they will give you but its worth a shot.
