Heaven or Hell
i am considering buying a new 23" Apple Display, but
have heard rumors about a new one coming out any day now......

Should i wait til the photo expo in 10 days ? or just get one now ??

The photo expo is where Aperture was launched 2 years ago.....

I'm sure my opinion won't be popular here, but...

Dude, get a Dell.

Save $230, and it acts as a USB 2.0 hub and card reader. I'm glad I took this road.

I picked up a sweet Westinghouse 24" 1920x1200 LCD from Best Buy yesterday for $360. Has HDMI, Component, S-Video, and Composite. I'm a self proclaimed Apple fanboy but for less than half the price of a 23" ACD, I'm not gonna complain.

I'd buy an apple display in a second if it had built in isight/mic. This is the most glaring deficiency in the apple lineup IMO. Without those, I see no reason to pay the premium over a DELL.

There are a number of cheaper options that will give you the same performance (or an inch larger). I've owned Dell and Apple monitors. No difference unless you care how the casing looks. Your money. Spend it how you will.

I believe he's talking about The PDN PhotoPlus Expo at the Javits Center next week. I'm going. Woohoo.

are there really rumors they will launch a new ACD next week?

I've been trying to wait for a new one with the iSight built in, but I don't feel like waiting until next summer or something. but next week, i could easily wait for that.

I don't see any problems with it. Great viewing angle, super bright, I've gamed and watched movies on it and haven't seen any issues.

I went to best buy yesterday to get this same monitor. I saw one at a friend's and was shocked at how smooth it looked, it also has a 1:1 for 1080p, so it would have been my first HDTV. I got to my store and stumbled into two openbox ACDs at a jaw-dropping price. Brought them home and they are perfect. I am thinking of selling them bc one of the reasons I wanted to get the 2410nm in the first place was because I want inputs for two computers, and my 20" ACD was not going to cut it. DVI KVM's are expensive, and all cut corners in the tech department. I think the Westinghouse is still a great deal. I may head back for one...

How much were those open box ACDs going for?
