Best way to know I am getting a original Stand by Me (1986) movie poster when I buy one ?

Probably if it looks like a 34 year old poster.

Movie posters/lobby cards aren't printed on conservation-quality pH neutral paper with archival pigments.

They are designed to last a couple of months and manufactured as cheaply as possible to fulfill that requirement.

If it looks too new to reflect its actual age, most likely it is a phony.

Read False Impressions by Thomas Hoving for additional insight into the world of art forgery. The basic concepts will apply to something pedestrian like movie posters.

Thank you.

I may just go the digital movie poster route. Sense then I can have multiple posters in one location but it may not look as good. Not sure.

Like this for example.

LOL, that Terminator poster has a logo for DTS, a digital theatre sound technology that emerged nine years (1993) after the film's 1984 debut.

Sure, you can use digital movie posters to create a good ambience for your mancave, home theatre, whatever. Nothing wrong with that.

I could load up on rock concert poster replicas. However, the only ones I have are the ones from The Fillmore (San Francisco) that are handed out to attendees at the end of the show. The colors change, they undergo damage, etc. BUT I WAS THERE.

I think that the "This Theatre Features DTS etc." and "Coming Soon" sections are part of the frame, not of the poster.
