Hello all, I'm looking at upgrading my early 2013 15" MacBook with 8GB RAM 256GB SSD (now 512GB) with the GT650M. I'm holding off buying the 16" until at least the 2nd revision so I planning on buying a used machine.

I came across a 2018 Macbook 15" with the 560X, 16GB RAM, i7 8850H 6 Core that only has 18 cycles on the battery, still with factory warranty (no apple care). I would be able to purchase it for $1250 and was wondering what is thought of the this setup and price to hold off for a year or 2. Also should note, I will be selling my current 2013 15".

Wow, that price is great. I had a similar machine and just got $1400 for it from Apple on trade in. Are you sure this thing is not stolen ;) . Sounds almost too good to be true!

Coming across this deal has only swayed me away from the 16" for now since it's still a substantial upgrade from what I have now.

So I can even trade it in to Apple for more than I even bought it for? Sounds like this is a good deal.

I agree that is a good deal!

I’ll be selling a 2018 13” shortly and was hoping to get $1100-1200 for it and I think that is fair (same machine refurb from Apple is ~$1650. So, by that benchmark this 15” you came across is a very good deal.

I've been wanting to order a 2.4/32GB/5500 8GB 1TB 16" ever since it was introduced but seeing the 16" having the issues with the screen has pushed me to wait on a big purchase for a Macbook. If Apple somehow fixes the issue with a software update, then I will have a 2018 up for sale locally!
