I'm About to buy a new 27" iMac but am rather undecided between the old i5 or the new i3. I'm working with aperture, photoshop and deamweaver most of the time and could get the i5 for only 100$ more then the i3.
Has anybody experience with the performance of those two as I'm rather undecided.

"3.2GHz Intel Core i3 processor with 4MB level 3 cache; ATI Radeon HD 5670 graphics processor with 512MB"
or
"2.66GHz Intel Core i5 processor with 8MB level 3 cache; ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics processor with 512MB "

Thx
Dan

Get the i5, it's definitely faster and more "future-proof"

for right now, the i3 is a very good chip. Look at Macworld's benchmarks. But the quad i5 is definitely a better processor and would last you much longer. Now, if you were debating between a dual i5 and i3, i'd say get the i3, but since you aren't, i5 definitely!
