Buying advice needed!

Hi everyone, I'm in the market for an ultracompact digital camera and I was hoping that people in this forum would have some solid advice for me. There's a sale going on for the next two days, so anything you say to help me make a decision by then would be really appreciated. Clearly I'm not a professional or serious photographer, but I would like a quality camera that takes beautiful pictures, that I can take anywhere. My last compact camera was a Canon, which served me very well, so I am mostly looking at that brand but I AM VERY OPEN to other suggestions. Again, looking for small and looking for great pictures. I'd also like to be able to play with some of the settings, but that's not a necessity.
