Ok I am really hoping for some helpful advice because I am so torn.

Needs of System:

College (Computer Science Major)
Run Parallels with Windows 8.1 on a daily basis
Mild use of Photoshop CC
Needs to be able to drive 30in Cinema Display at work
The lighter the better because it will travel from home to school to work almost daily
Would like best battery

These are the configs I am debating between.

MBPr 13 i7 2.8/16GB/1TB
MBPr 15 i7 2.3/16/512

When I looked at both of these in person I absolutely loved the size and form of the 13in. I really want a light system because it goes everywhere with me. I currently have a 15in MBP and it is very cumbersome to take with me everywhere. My concern is that I really need the power of the 15in. Do you think the power of the 13 I configured would be enough to last the next 3-5 years with the tasks I described.

Thank you I hope you help me decide.

Any Mac model, including the Mac mini, can easily handle the workload you described. Buy whichever you like. How long it lasts is dependent on how well you take care of it. Many Mac notebooks are in use after 5, 6, 7 or more years.

Thank you for your help I guess the main thing I am worried about is that I have the i7 Quad and an Nvidia Graphics card already and I would see the MBPr13 as a downgrade.
