Hi guys,

I am new to Macs, just got a PowerMac G5 2.5 ghz system from a friend. I've never tinkered with Mac hardware before and I know I need an Airport Extreme card. My roommate just bought one off of ebay and paid $38 including shipping for it. I went onto ebay and searched "Airport Extreme card" and it came up with a bunch of different model cards that were are LOT cheaper than $38. I am at a loss figuring out which card I should buy as I am not sure why my roommate decided to pay $38 for a card when I am seeing them for a lot less. Can anyone offer some insight? I don't need bluetooth and I am fine with wireless G instead of N if it saves some money.

Would these be appropriate purchases?

Thanks.

well i hate to this but you cant just put any old airport extreme in your powermac the only option is to put this kit into which is a combination of bluetooth and airport extreme costs $217. If you can live without airport and bluetooth. like for instance using a ethernet cable and just not syncing your phone to your mac it will save a lot of money:D
