I want to spend like $150 for an external monitor to connect my Late 13' Macbook Pro to it.

Will the text be clear? I remember doing this years ago and the computer was VERY sluggish. I think it was my old macbook, I don't recall.

I do have a 4k TV at the moment...can I connect it with an HDMI cable and use that as an external monitor for the time being?

It should be clear, if not, give this a look: https://www.cleverfiles.com/help/mac-fonts-text-blurry.html

If you have a newer MBP, you'll need an HDMI to USB-C adapter to use your TV/monitor. Older ones have an HDMI port already. Older mac's only support 4k res @ 24hz, so it may appear sluggish. 2016+ MBP's only support 4k at 30hz UNLESS you have a TV/monitor with HDMI 2.0, which it'll display at 60hz. I've found TV's are always finnicky with computers in general and almost always require some sort of tweaking to get them to display right.

Mine is a Late 13'

Do I connect the HDMI then just Mirror it?
