Buying an iBook as a gift

Hi all,

I want to buy my wife an iBook as a gift. I know we can't do this in the UK yet so I'm planning on doing this, will it work?...

Get her iPad
Go to the iBook store on it and sign out of her account
Sign into my account and buy the book
Sign back into her account

If I do that will she be able to keep the book on there? and do all the nice syncing features with iBooks on her iPhone and things like that?

It will be there but it will be on your account and she won't be able to sync the bookmark on her iphone, for example, if she wish. the best way right now is just buy her itunes gift card and let her buy the book herself.
