If someone gets a subsidized phone w/ a new 2-year agreement is transferring their phone to my account as simple as their canceling and paying the ETF? Not sure if I want to commit to this, especially as they're scalping (but it's the same as the unsubsidized price would be on my end less tax).

I have a feeling it's going to be a lot more than the unsubsidized price, else it wouldn't be scalping...

surprisingly the listings here aren't terribly obnoxious.

in any event i still don't know the answer to this and i don't really trust sellers to answer honestly.

If you're on AT&T all you have to do is put your sim card in the phone. If you're on one of the CDMA carriers I would have the person meet your at the carrier store to transfer and activate the phone on your account.

I will 100% insist that the phone be in original packaging and unopened.

That will not work out well for you. I know from experience. The nano sim will be locked to the sellers name and you will need last 4 of soc sec num and zipcode from the seller. I bought mine on ebay and luckily the guy trusted me enough to give me his personal information....Just have the seller open it activate it and remove his sim and then give it to you. Will save a huge headache!

How many people have nano sim adapters? I'm sure trying to use the nano sim after selling it would be difficult? Like for me I have a microsim adapter and could use the sticker that comes with it to keep it attached, but I don't trust it. The adapters are already flimsy enough with a microsim in it.
