I am already an At&t subscriber, and am looking to upgrade my current phone to an iphone. I will have to pay the early upgrade price. Is there going to be any sort of credit check or anything like that in order to activate it?

The ATT site will tell you if you are eligible for an upgrade. You, of course,
will be required to add the $30 data plan to your phone plan. No credit check,
but you might have to pay the $36 iphone activation charge on the next bill(be sure to ask).

All that is fine. I checked online and there is no activation fee for me. I am eligible for an early upgrade.
