Buying an LCD monitor for MacPro

My budget is around $500. I care less about ACD now since I will be buying a 30" ACD in the future. I'm looking for a 24-inch with 1920x1200 resolution. Other things to consider is good contrast ratio and a good response time since I will be editing videos.

I have never owned an LCD monitor before so anyone can give me advice on what to buy? I have looked around the stores and I don't know where to begin.

I've always been pleased with the Dell Ultrasharp line - they have a nice 24" Widescreen.

It looks like the 22" Ultrasharp does not have the added ports or the heigh adjustable stand relative to the regular 22". I believe the 20" and 24" still do.
