Big Box store has a returned open box macbook pro 15 inch. Not the current generation, previous generation. 4GB of ram, C2D. the h key needs to be replaced.
Went for 1699.99.
They offered it to me for $950.00

Good deal or should I pass?

If it turns on and seems to run fine and you are in the market for a new machine, then it seems like a very good deal.

will YOUR purchase date be the date reflected on Applecare ? (or will it not be covered under Applecare....)
does everything original come in the box ?

it's a 2.4ghz. apple care will start over...and I can get black tie protection on the laptop from Best Buy.

it has the adapter...lacks only the restore CD.

it looks brand new.

aye...with that you can get the new mbp 13"...the only difference between the two is the screen estate. if the specs were better than it would've been a great steal, but not really different...
