Thinking about buying a refurb iMac from the Apple refurb store. I notice that Amazon sells AppleCare for about $50 less than Apple itself sells it. Is there anything unusual about buying AppleCare for a refurb product as compared to if I had bought the product brand new from Apple? Or is the process of buying AppleCare for a refurb exactly the same as buying AppleCare for a new product? With refurbs, do I still have 1-year from date of purchase of the item to buy AppleCare?

Thanks for any responses.

Nothing different. Same rules apply. I have frequently purchased refurb, then later AC via amazon.

Thanks for inquiring, I had no idea you could do that. That's exactly what I'm going to do now.
