Hi

I'm looking to replace my stolen macbook pro, and I'm looking at some used machines.

Should buying Applecare on these things be pretty straightforward for me, as long as I have the serial number?

What about machines that have been repaired? One I looked at needs a screen repair. Will that make Applecare invalid?

You can only buy applecare within a year of purchasing the Mac. So based on the serial number you may or may not be able to buy applecare since you're buying the mac used. It all depends on what apple has in the database for that Mac
