Buying Cell Phone from Amazon

So I'm part of my father's plan on AT&T and am due for a new phone(for extending my part of the plan another two years). AT&T charges much more for phones than Amazon. I'm just weary because I don't want anything funky to happen to my father's plan. Has anyone here upgraded their phone through Amazon? Any cautionary tales I should be aware of? Thanks in advance for your help. :)
 
i would really trust Amazon. i have bought a cell phone from them for verizon when my contract was up. it was as simple as buying anything else from amazon and i activated it with no problems.:D
 
Nothing to worry about. But Amazon and other 3rd party resellers have their own contract, and if you cancel early, not only do you pay ATT an ETF, you pay Amazon one too, so I'd read the fine print if you ever plan to cancel
