Hey everyone,

In preparation for my Unibody MBP that I am receiving as a replacement, im trying to find 4GB of DDR3 RAM. I was looking around crucial and newegg and found prices to range from 55-70. Do you guys know of any place would sell it cheaper?

Thanks!

Newegg is the cheapest you will find strictly price wise. However OWC is priced slightly higher than Newegg but you can send in your old ram (2 gb of DDR3 is worth $12), so overall it ends up being cheaper. I just bought some sticks from them today and have heard very good things about them in the past.

Additionally, OWC guarantees compatibility with your Mac, whereas Newegg doesn't. There are many threads here concerning people who have purchased memory from Newegg and had problems getting it replaced because it won't work in their Mac (as opposed to a PC).

I use Crucial in my MacBook, but there are plenty of threads where the general consensus supports both Crucial and Kingston, not to mention a few others.
