I am getting a bit short on available memory, so I set up to buy an extra 20GB at 79p a month. I expected it to show on my Settings>General>About. It only shows in my Settingd>I cloud section. It still shows only 857MB in the Settings>General>About. Can anyone explain please.? Thanks in advance.

Extra storage only applies to iCloud. You cannot add storage to your phone.
If you need room on your device, you will need to remove some items (pics/vids/music/etc) to regain storage space.
