Buying from Amazon - New iMacs?

I have a bunch of Amazon gift cards - so I'll be purchasing my new iMac from them.

When the new iMac is released do you know if Amazon will have them in stock right away? Or will it take a long time? Few weeks...months?

Or is it only Apple who sells them when they are first released?

If I have to wait more than a month I'm just buying the current generation. This is my first Mac and Im way too impatient.
