What are the pros/cons of buying MB directly from Apple vs other retailers?
Some online stores - like Amazon do not charge sales tax in most states which makes it ~8% cheaper.. + have rebates, free shipping, no restocking fees, bundles...etc

If not then ordering from amazon should be fine. Returning from amazon is a bit of a hassle (you have to go to the post office) and I am not sure if they have a restocking fee. Apple has a restocking fee but you could just bring it to the store.
